About Honolulu, Hawaii

There are so many impressions people form about Honolulu that wash away once they visit. All they see are wonders to behold. Some names to keep in mind are Kamehameha I, the first king of Hawaii. He conquered the islands in the early nineteenth century. Honolulu even has a Chinatown, which is where the arts district is, too. Waikiki is where the tourists want to go first, especially a few decades ago. They wanted to see Diamond Head then. Maybe that made things feel like an Elvis Presley movie or something. The University of Hawaii is in Manoa Valley. East Honolulu is the ritzy part of town. The Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art is housed in one of her mansions, named Shangri-La. No one argues with that name.
