Mid-Pacific Institute Reviews

This was my first year at MPI an I loved it. The 6th grade program made me feel very welcomed and they helped me make many friends. The class sizes are very small so I got the individual attention I needed. The teachers make learning enjoyable. Mid-Pacific will guarantee a wonderful education and preparation for college.

Hi, I am a student attending MPI and I am responding to the comment about how our staff is not preparing us. I am in MPSA which is the arts program at MPI and we have phenomenal teachers. The arts teachers are the best in the state, for band we have both a highly regarded teachers that specialize in different types of Instruments. Our dance staff is amazing, although I don't take dance. All the kids I talk to love what they do and I believe thats it's spark by how much the teacher loves what he or she is teaching. So as I write this comment I find myself dissagreeing more and more about the comment im replying to. I'm not sure what you have experinced while your child had been a student at MPI but let me assure you that you might need to take another look.

Hands down the top school in the state. I can't say enough about the teachers, facilities, and curiculum. Amazing!

The art s program has been praised immensely at Mid Pacific. Too bad the staff is horrible, the teachers don t know what they re doing, and the students will be pushed around in the real world because they are uninformed, extremely sheltered, and photocopies of each other.

Amazing teachers, facilties...everything. Great size, not too big and a very nurturing environment.

MPI is now a pre-K through Grade 12 school. Phenominal staff and administration!

We moved here from the Mainland - looked at all HNL schools and were amazed and the breadth and depth of the Mid-Pacific education. The tech. facilities are ranked #7 in America - and the School of the Arts allows my children to either take a certificate program; take classes in; or do after school club work within the Arts. The campus is 40 acres of beauty, and the faculty have degrees from Harvard, Oxford, Stanford, Berkeley, Duke etc... From the moment we spoke with the Admissions Dean, we knew this was no ordinary school. My children (all 3) participate in sports, art and college-prep academics. For us there is no other school in Honolulu.

I am a former student of mid pac. I had the priveledge of matriculating here for seventh and eighth grade. I would have stayed longer, but my father is in the Marine Corps. I later went to a public school in Rhode Island for 9th grade, a DODDS school in Belgium for 10 and 11, and a public school in South Carolina for my Senior year. I have found the teachers to be helpful and courteous, and they maintain a very structured, very challening program. The mathematics, theatre, and technology programs are especially noteworthy. The president takes time to learn names, (there are over 1000 students) and the school provides an arena of beauty and friendliness one would expect in the Manoa Valley. The school also commends excellence; I was awarded a two thousand dollar scholarship. Mid Pac surpasses other schools because it has a vision and offers ample individual attention.

Comments from our children regarding their teachers and classes at Mid Pac have been positive. Excellent Acting classes, the Algebra teacher goes one on one with our daughter when she needs it. Lots of care and enthusiasm shows with the instructors at Mid Pac.

I have found that some of the teachers were not receptive to the students questions and did not offer them guidance or support to find the answers. I expected a private institution to challenge and encourage the students, but did not find MidPacific to be at that level.
