Washington Middle School Reviews

We were worried about our daughter attending Washington before the school year began, those worries proved to be unfounded. The 6th Grade teachers are creative, hard working, dedicated, and really do strive to reach each child. I am shocked at how early the teachers arrive and how late in the day they remain! They are there for the kids as well as to prepare for the day ahead. I really like kids are welcomed onto the campus and the also have the Girls & Boys Club available. The downside is the school does not have adequate numbers of textbooks for all students but that falls on the DOE's shoulders, not Washington Middle School. The staff utilizes what they have and strives to supplement the best they can. Our daughter feels safe and cared about. This is a very good school if you stay involved with your child and teachers.

I feel it could be better. There are way too many students, and everyone there is not on the same page because of it. I feel that some of the councelors and teachers really care, and are wonderful, but others are goofy and only there for ther pay check. Our children are getting the brunt of it because some of us cannot afford to put our kids in private schools.

Washington Middle School will guarantee your child a really great learning expierience. In Washington there are different teams that learn different levels of work according to your child's needs. There are AP class's too starting at 7th grade. In 7th grade your child can learn Pre-algebra if they work hard enough and get revcommendations. Washington has great community service programs and leadership programs. Their fine arts teachers are really good as well. Such as mrs.sandra vyvoda the orchestra teacher. My daughter went to Washington in 6th grade and got into Punahou for 7th grade. I believe that Washington Middle School helped her to achieve that goal. Washington is a very sophisticated school and helps your child to excel in all subjects. If your not going to send your child to a private school send them to Washington. I can guarentee that you will be happy with the results. Go Eagles! woot!
