This beautiful beach was a popular destination for wealthy Kamaaina, including Honolulu landowner Walter Chamberlain Peacock. In 1905, PeACock sold the hotel to Alexander Matson, the owner of the Waikiki Beach Hotel and Royal Hawaiian Hotel. He continued to operate his hotel until he sold it and all his properties in Waikiki to the Sheraton Hotel chain in 1959. The Sheratons sold Moana and Royal Hawaiian in 1963 and managed the property under long-term contracts until Starwood Hotels & Resorts acquired ITT - Sheraton Corporation in 1998.
In 2007, Sheraton Hotels & Resorts renamed the hotel Westin Hot Hotels & Resorts and Starwood renamed it the swanky Westin Resort & Spa. At the time, it was the only hotel in Waikiki with its own spa and operated under a long-term contract with the same management team. Originally known as "The First Lady of Waikiki" (Moana Surfrider), the west was established in the 1950s at Resort and Spa on Waika Beach.

The Outrigger Waikiki Connection Trolley is included in hotel fees and includes access to all hotel amenities, including a full-service spa and fitness centre, as well as a restaurant, bar and lounge. One thing I love about the Westin Hotel is that they offer New Balance workout clothes and shoes for just $5 a day. Starwood doesn't seem to allow this, so don't expect to get a better room or any perks for what you pay. You do not have to pay any fees for a full-service spa, fitness, fitness, pool or fitness centre.
